After more than 50 years of service to our community, the beginnings of the veterinary clinic can be described as modest. After our marriage with Carolyn in 1974 we moved back to our hometown in 1976 and founded a family-owned veterinary clinic. Dr Reed's approach to animal care has always been sympathetic and supportive, even in the most difficult times of his life.
The veterinary clinic is led by Dr. Colin Campbell, PhD, who has been dedicated to the science of human health for more than 60 years. He studied at the University of Missouri-St. Louis before moving to Tender Care Veterinary Center. He then attended and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Columbia University, Columbia, Missouri, School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, he practiced for two years in Baltimore, Maryland, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine in May 2019.
He attended Kansas State University for a basic veterinary degree and graduated in 1984 with a DVM degree. Howard has been a lecturer at Tender Care Veterinary Center for more than 20 years, most recently as director of the veterinary clinic.
He graduated from Penn State and earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After graduating, he completed a two-year residency program at North Carolina State University Veterinary Medical Center and received a DVM from Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine. He was a member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and completed a clinical year at Iowa State University. After graduating, he attended veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to earn a bachelor's degree in animal science and then a master's degree in veterinary medicine.
Steven always knew that working with animals was his calling, and he attended the University of Wyoming and was accepted to Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Campbell earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University in 2009 and his veterinary degree from the US Department of Agriculture's College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Health Sciences in 2010. He attended a two-year residency program at Virginia Tech Veterinary Medical Center, where he earned his DVM in 2011 and his Master of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
In 2005, he moved to Silver Spring, Maryland, and has since been given the opportunity to work with animals at Maryland Heights Veterinary Medical Center.
Dr. Lawrence Zeis, a licensed and experienced St. Louis veterinarian, runs the veterinary clinic and the animal hospital. He earned his certification as a board member of the College of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care in 2005, followed by the American College in Veterinary. Kirkwood Animal Hospital in Campbell, Los Gatos, and Saratoga, CA, is an experienced veterinarian dedicated to the welfare of cats and dogs. Dr. Krug is considered one of the best veterinarians in town and has a reputation for caring for and dedicating himself to his patients.
